About Us

Introducing Amanda....

I still remember my first successful ski run down a nursery slope when I was 9 years old in France… OK,  it wasn't too gnarly but I was instantly hooked! Eleven years later, I  took my first Instructor training course and I guess that was that!

Always working hard to keep learning and progress my skills, I have worked winters on Cairngorm Mountain ever since, and have had the pleasure to work alongside some of the most fantastic instructors in the world. I co-owned and directed the Ski and Snowboard School and very proudly established the highly successful Snowlimit children’s programme which ran for 12 years and taught over 2000 kids to ski and snowboard. I am now working as the Development Officer and Coach for Cairngorm  Ski Club and in the summer I am lucky enough to work for Wilderness Scotland and can be spotted on road and MTB showing visitors the best of our beautiful country.

I absolutely love to teach and am always very excited to pass on my passion, knowledge and experience to others in a relaxed and fun environment. Come and join me and lets have a blast!

Oh and the qualification bit…  BASI Level 3 Ski;  BASI Level 2 Snowboard;  BASI Level 2 Alpine Coach; MBLA Mountain Bike Leader; Outdoor First Aid;  Child Protection and PVG member (Protection of Vulnerable Groups) Full Disclosure

and Claire.....

I was introduced to snowboarding through an outdoor course at college and took to it like a duck to concrete! Let's say it initially didn't come naturally to me but all I knew was that I loved it... and wanted more.
Not long after, I was teaching my friends to snowboard and a member of staff on the lifts commented on how good my teaching style was, and that I should get myself qualified. So I did!
That was a long time ago now and its been the best thing I have ever done with my life.

I've got to work and visit counties such as New Zealand, Argentina, North America, Japan, and parts of Europe, and have learnt so much along the way and met so many amazing people.
I have a real passion to nurture, encourage, and teach people to snowboard. Also I love to teach people new things and make them feel good about themselves.
My very patient and relaxed nature comes through in my lessons, putting you at ease, helping you focus and learn, and most of all...enjoy yourself!!

Bits of paper to my name.....   BASI Snowboard Level 2~ UKCP Snowboard Coach Level 1 ~ Outdoor 1st Aid ~ PVG Member ~ Child Protection ~ Full Criminal Disclosure.

and finally, Jono.....

Originally from the South of England I moved up to the Highlands of Scotland.  After completing a full career of 24 years in the British Army travelling to the four corners of the world, I embarked on a new career in the outdoor adventure industry.  In the summer I’m a mountain bike guide and a keen road biker, hiker and enjoy bike packing.  In the winter I’m a ski and snowboard instructor.  I get a great buzz from teaching people the basics of skiing and snowboarding and seeing them develop and get the winter sports bug.  When I not guiding or teaching I can be found out in the Cairngorm Mountains and the Northern Highlands both summer and winter on my bike, skis or splitboard and generally enjoying being out in the fresh Scottish air.
